19/May/2010: Mr. Yu Zhou, Petroleum Engineering graduate student, is among the recipients of the prestigious Society of Petroleum Engineers Northern Asia Pacific Region STAR Fellowships for the 2010-2011 academic years
Each year, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) awards 15 scholarships and 15 fellowships among the fifteen SPE sub-regions to outstanding students who are studying in the field of petroleum industry. This is a very competitive award based on overall academic and professional credentials and achievement. SPE STAR Scholarships and Fellowships are awarded to highly potential and excellent students based on evaluation of many aspects including academic records, leadership and communication skills, interest in petroleum engineering as a profession, and contributions to the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Mr. Zhou is among the recipients this year. He graduated from China University of Petroleum, Beijing and is currently Research and Teaching Assistant in the Petroleum Engineering Department at the PI.
